Visions of Slightly Above Mediocrity

Due to increase mileage and, now, accompanied by commuting by bike to work, I may, just may, have over-extended myself which lead to my spell of congestion, body aches and a killer headache. Probably, sitting on the cold concrete garage floor in shorts and a t-shirt to install new fenders and a carrier rack on my bike didn't help either. Hence, I called in sick to catch-up on sleep and relax from an otherwise stressful work week. It just occurred to me that I haven't taken a sick day in nearly eleven months - a new record!

Back to the voracious appetite...this morning, I had two eggs, nearly a full bag of hash browns, two pieces of toast, orange juice, tea and chocolate milk. Okay, the BIG breakfast may be justified as I skipped dinner last night because I couldn't stomach anything. The problem may be twenty minutes later I finished the remaining Hershey's chocolate King-size bar. Who could resist? It sat prominently upon the kitchen counter with it's wrapper drawn back. If I walked away to another room, I could still envision it, knowing it was available. Soon, it too was gone. You would think I would be satisfied but, we all know, only Snickers satisfies. About an hour later, the left-over, baked, breaded chicken breast was gone -- all before 10 a.m. Feed a cold, starve a fever?

Tomorrow is the first race of the Summer Trail Running Series where we both need a strong finish to be considered for year-end prizes awarded to the top ten finishers. The series is based upon your best three finishes out of five races, however we're missing two races due to the San Francisco Marathon. Maybe, my appetite is due to nervousness? I do have visions of greatness, well, maybe the it's more like "visions of slightly above mediocrity."

Has your voracious appetite change your weight or body measurements? What is your current height and weight? BMI? You mentioned in my blog about how difficult it was for you to gain weight in the past, is this still true?

I must be burning a lot of calories as my clothes are loose, if not looser (belt hole test: I'm on my last notch and have to buy new belts), but my weight is stable. More muscle? I think the weight training helped as well as cycling to work.
